1-10 Focus/Physiology

Process: This energiser can work in several ways, but in essence it explores the link between physiology - i.e. our body positioning and posture - and our state of mind. For example the audience are invited to sit the way they would sit if they were bored and tired. The hope is that some of them will move. Similarly they will be asked to sit as if totally alert and attuned. Another exercise suggests we should become aware of how we feel on a scale of 1-10. If we are called upon to perform say, a short speech, how might we move up and down the scale.

Outcome: Delegates come to understand how they can impact their state of mind by their physiology. We know how we stand when we feel depressed. Slumping our shoulders and lowering our head works wonders. So if we feel this happening we can shift our posture so as to simulate feeling great.
